What are funded newspapers?
The demand for Newspapers In Education (NIE) electronic newspapers has been tremendous.
We partner with businesses or individuals in a number of ways to provide subscriptions to the electronic edition of The Seattle Times newspaper. Companies may sponsor an entire program, adopt schools/classrooms, or make monetary contributions to the NIE Literacy Fund through The Seattle Foundation. Any donations made through the Foundation are tax-deductible. To help support our community NIE programs, The Seattle Times underwrites the operational and programming costs.
The NIE program has developed several partnerships with local and national corporations from banks to professional sports teams to bring additional newspapers into local classrooms. Corporate sponsors' logos are always included in the teacher promotional materials and advertising.
You can put your firm in the company of many fine businesses that have contributed to this worthy cause. NIE is supported by many local businesses that value education. For a list of current donors, please click here.
