WORKSHOPS
Over the course of the school year, Newspapers In Education (NIE) offers workshops to educators and students related to the curriculum and programs we offer. The workshops not only offer information based on newspaper and curricula material content, but discussion and activities that can be used in the classroom with your students.
Most workshops offer clock hours and some require a registration fee.
Workshops are always in the works, check back frequently to learn about more hands-on workshops dealing with literacy, journalism, science, current events and life skills!

Exploring Asia Workshop for Secondary Educators

The Asia Centers and the Center for Global Studies of the Henry M.Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington
are proud to present Exploring Asia: Political Change in the 21st Century,their 2013 Newspapers In Education Series and Workshop. The five-part
series, in conjunction with The Seattle Times, includes articles on Burma,China, India and Central Asia, in addition to an overview article. The
workshop will include presentations by series authors as well as an introduction to the curriculum guide that pairs with the articles.
The cost of registration for the workshop is $30, which includes three Washington state clock hours, dinner and a printed curriculum guide.
